- LIC Jeevan Saathi plan is simple pure endowment plan which offers good bonus on maturity
- A plan that provides a double joint life covers for a person along with his/her spouse
- Flexible premium paying policy term
- This plan offers tax benefits too
How does this Plan work?
Under this LIC Jeevan Saathi plan, an individual opts to pay regular premiums for a policy term chosen from between 15 to 35 years. After the policy term gets over, on maturity the individual receives maturity benefit, which consists of Sum assured and accrued bonus. Suppose, if in case of unfortunate death of the spouse/individual during the policy, the individual/spouse receives sum assured and the remaining premiums are waived off with the continuity of the policy. Further if in case on death of the last survivor too, the nominee receives Sum assured and accrued bonus as death benefit
Let’s understand this better by an illustration,
Consider,
Person’s age: 35 years

Sum assured: Rs. 1 lakh
35 years old person pays a regular annual premium of Rs. 5361/ for a policy term of 25 years under the LIC Jeevan Saathi plan, to get a double joint life cover for himself and his wife. After the policy gets over he receives Rs 1 lakh and accrued bonus, if he/his wife/both survive as maturity benefit. Suppose if his wife/ he dies during the policy term, then the surviving spouse gets Sum assured of Rs 1 lakh. Further if in-case death occurs of the surviving spouse as well, during the policy term then the nominee gets Rs. 1 lakh and accrued bonus.
